Events Management
The task was to raise as much money and awareness for the British Red Cross as possible through an event.
Our team chose to bring awareness of The Red Cross to students and encourage them to donate to the cause.
We did this by holding a student night at the local Walkabout Bar on Birmingham's Broad Street.
As we had a lot of competition, we used a Personal Appearance from Harry Derbidge, a star from The Only Way Is Essex to entice students and fans of the show to come to our event.
He came on stage and informed the guests of the good work the Red Cross do, and encouraged them to donate. He then spent the rest of the night posing for photographs with a Red Cross donation bucket.
These images then went onto the social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter.
To enhance the message of the Red Cross, DVD vidoes were played in the bar on the TV screens all night, showing the work that the Red Cross do all over the world as well as in the UK.
Throughout the night we raised over £1500 for the British Red Cross, and received a special thank you from the Charity.

Product Development
I chose to develop and rebrand Birmingham's Jewellery Quater for the Luxuary Market. The quater contains such a wide veriaty of Jewellery, from the luxurious James Newman, to the bold and brave designs of the Jewellery School.
To promote the Quater, I worked with Harvey Nichols and Brilliantly Birmingham's Flux exhibition.
The propsal was to put on a Fashion Show inside Birmingham's Harvey Nichols using the Jewellery from the Jewellery School, and the Luxuary retailer James Newman.
In order to develop this idea, I worked closely with the students, Designers and Harvey Nichols.
To promote the event a range of promotional material was created using a former Miss England 2008, Laura Coleman and photographer Wesley Hambleton.
The shoot was conducted in the Jewellery Quater, using the Bars, and the interior of James Newman's Store.
The propsal was heard by my tutors as well as those in the Jewellery Quater, Brilliantly Birmingham and was very well received to the extent where talks were started to put the proposal into action.

Visual Studies
This module was created using a River Island Competition.
I was given a skirt to customise by the company and set a £5 budget by the course.
I chose to work along an Alice and Wonderland theme, as there was alot of fantasy and fairytale trends on the catwalks at the time, from designers such as Hussein Chalayan and Channel.
However I decided to move away from the sweet and innocent Alice and Wonderland that is widely known, and explore a darker "Alice in Urbanland" idea.
I did this by making the skirt shorter and adding a lace bodice to make the outfit into a dress.
The pannels inserted into the skirt are a hint toward the iconic apron that Alice wears.
I wanted the photographs to look confused, as if the girl had just woken up in a strange and unusual world.
To do this I found a location behind a bill board, where my model could emerge from the undergrowth looking confused. To enhance this look and to give reference to Alice in Wonderland I created strings of cards.
I loved the photographs that this project enabled me to produce.

Photography
As part of a photography project, I was asked to shoot a second year Fashion Design students work.
Once I had completed the location shoot, I then took the images and used Adobe Photoshop to remove bruises, play around with effects and enhance the images.
In order to emphasise the model and the designers clothes, I decided to play around with making the background monochrome, so that the pale flesh colours of the dress would pop against the background and be the first thing that the viewer focuses on when they are presented with the image.
