Marketing Intern - The Disney Store
During my four week placement at the Disney Store I was able to experience how a busy Marketing department in a large corporation works to bring the brand to its consumers.
I was able to work closely with the senior marketing manager to help implement current marketing strategies, and help to research future campaigns.
I experienced client, agency meetings with The Disney Store's PR team, and was able to offer input for the opening of the new Oxford Street store launch.
During my time at the company, the President of The Disney Store World Wide, Jim Fielding, was visiting the London offices, so I was tasked with putting together wall displays to demonstrate instore campigns, and put together presentation boards for the new fragrance launches.
I was also given the task of communicating with customers who had won competitions, to arrange the logistics of getting the prize to them.
I was also tasked with the every day paperwork of the department, such as updating release schedules, keeping track of coverage and documenting it in spreadsheets, and maintaing the companies Excell spreadsheets.
I had a fantastic time working for the company, and my passion for Marketing was greatly enhanced from the hands on experience I was able to gain.

Social Media Intern - Walt Disney Motion Pictures
The main responsibility whilst working at The Walt Disney Company was looking after the channels on the Disney's YouTube accounts.
This involved going to Google and YouTube head offices in order to hear from them how the channels work and how to improve them.
Once I had delivered my feedback to the rest of the social media team, I was then tasked with increasing the UK views and subscriptions using the information and advice I received from head office.
After 4 weeks, I gave a presentation to the rest of the team, Outlining my recommendations and showing the results that I had gained, which included increasing UK views by 10% and subscriptions by 15%.
The presentation was received so well, that I was then asked to present to the marketing agency, as well as the heads of European Countries.
This was a great experience as it enabled me to learn new skills, such as Search Engine Optimization, uploading and making video's on YouTube, maintaining YouTube Channels, utilising analytic's to asses the progress that has been made, and using spread sheets to track the channels progress.
I absolutely loved my time with the company and feel that I have learned a wide range of skills that will be very useful in the future.

PR Intern - Wired PR
I worked for Wired for four weeks. During this time I was exposed to a wide variety of the inner workings of the PR world.
I was able to assist in the day to day running of the company, from making deliveries to sending Electronic Press Kits to the media and brainstorming for future PR events.
One of the highlights of my time with the company was helping out with a PR day to promote the release of "GreenZone" on DVD.
The day allowed the press to have training from stunt men, one of whom was Matt Damon's stunt man in the film.
As well as hand to hand combat and running through explosions, they were also given a ride through an old market in a Hum V army vehicle.
This involved meeting the Press and ensuring that taxis were provided from the train station to the location.
The day also included tidying up after the fake explosions, Making sure all the media and press in attendance had everything the needed http://www.talktalk.co.uk/video/30921/film/Green-Zone:-Stunt-Day/#30921 The day required me to be organised and efficient in everything I did to ensure that the running of the day was smooth.
